Need an Official Docket or Record?
Choose the custodian by court and case type. For district felony, district civil, and family records, contact the Henderson County District Clerk at 100 East Tyler Street, Room 202, Athens, TX 75751. The telephone number is 903-675-6115. Published office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The District Clerk page directs court-copy requests through its official dcfile email route. Send the request before using the certified-copy payment channel.
For county misdemeanor, county-level civil, probate, constitutional County Court, and assigned County Court at Law records, contact the Henderson County County Clerk at 125 North Prairieville Street, Room 101, Athens, TX 75751. The telephone number is 903-675-6140. Published hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Family cases remain filed with the District Clerk even when assigned to a County Court at Law.
Justice Court records belong to the clerk for the correct precinct. Municipal citations belong to the issuing city court in Athens, Gun Barrel City, Mabank, Chandler, or Malakoff. A county clerk cannot confirm a city docket merely because both systems use a Tyler vendor. For a hearing date, use the court coordinator shown for the named court. The county events calendar is not a case calendar.
Have the court name, cause number, case style, record type, and filing or event date ready. For a copy request, state whether a plain, certified, or exemplified copy is needed and ask for the current fee, payment method, delivery choice, and processing estimate. Do not send Social Security numbers, full dates of birth, account numbers, or other sensitive identifiers unless the official clerk says a specific item is required through a secure channel.
